My 9/11
Aside from the dates that mark the passing of both of my parents, September 11th will forever be a somber day to me. It marks the passing of my feelings of “Complete and Total” safety. It will always remind me of the images of destruction and unnecessary death.
My heart always has a sinking feeling on this day because after now 6 years, the same amount of people are no longer feeling the same “Rah Rah…USA, USA” feelings any longer.
I guess what saddens me most is the short memory that some in this country have.
So, I guess what I’m getting at is this…On September 11th, 2001, the words “We Will Never Forget” were everywhere you looked. Now, only 6 years later, it seems that some people have already “Forgot”.
